As well as our regular services, we have many activities and events, both spiritual and secular. Everyone is welcome to any activity. Just ask, or if appropriate, just turn up. If in doubt, contact us.
What we do
This open to everyone: an ideal chance to catch up with your neighbours over a pleasant drink and some homemade cakes and pastries. There are three coffee mornings:
Ashendon: 1st Tuesday of the month in the Village Hall between 10.30am and noon.
Brill: every Thursday in the URC between 10am and noon.
Ludgershall: last Tuesday of the month in the Village Hall between 10.30am and noon.
It will be good to see you at one of them!
Friday Club is an afterschool club for years 5 and 6 at Brill School. It is two hours of fun - crafts, games, food and a video based on a Bible theme. It runs on Fridays 3-5pm during term time.
For more details, contact Jenny.
Home Groups are informal meetings in the villages where neighbours get together to explore our journey in the Christian Faith. There are currently two home groups:
Ashendon: Every two weeks on a Thursday evening. For details, please contact Jenny.
Ludgershall: Every two weeks on a Monday evening. For details, please contact Alan Turner-Smith
Any retired person in the Bernwode Benefice is welcome to join our friendly group. It costs just £2.50 for a home-cooked, two-course meal, and a small raffle prize. Lunch is at Brill Memorial Hall, come along at 12.30pm for 1pm. If you would like to join please let either Josie Symes (01844 237 185) or Caroline Woodman (01844 237 326) know.
Brill Church Choir
We are a four part choir of up to 15 singers. We sing at the Holy Communion service on the 4th Sunday of the month in Brill church, and this is often preceded by a practice on the Saturday. We also get together a slightly fuller choir for Easter and for the occasional Evensong. We have a much larger choir for the Christmas Carol Service, which takes place on the last Sunday before Christmas.
Anyone interested in joining us in any of these call Charles Wheatley or phone him on (01844) 237102.
The churches at Brill and Ludgershall both have active bell towers that are rung on a regular basis. Any one over the age of 7 can learn and you don't have to be particularly musical or exceptionally strong! Practices are held weekly, on Monday nights at Brill or Friday nights at Ludgershall.
Just turn up or contact the respective tower captain for more information:
- Peter Nicholas on (01844) 238 577 at Brill
- Valerie Evans (01844) 237 955 at Ludgershall.
